Hotel Eden is situaded on the Lake Maggiore, in the historical center of Baveno, and enjoys wonderful view of the Borromean Islands. It is a family run three star hotel that has belonged to the Pagani family since 1907.
Directly outside the hotel across the road is a lovely lakeside promenade. Nearby there is a bus-stop and boat station.
Hotel Eden has a hall, bar, restaurant and lift.
There are 23 bedrooms with air conditioning, direct dial telephone, satellite tv, radio, wi-fi Internet, safe, private bathroom with shower and hairdryer. There is also a solarium terrace, on the second floor, with a mountain view.
The hotel is 40 Km from the Swiss border, 45 Km from Milan Malpensa, 4 Km from Stresa and 3 Km from the exit of the motorway A26.
The hotel is in a central position. There is a pleasant homely atmosphere with Italian traditional cuisine which is the ideal solution for your holiday.
This hotel has been owned by the Pagani family since 1907. In that time they have truly learned how to run a hotel. From the moment we walked in to reception to leaving 7 days later we were made to feel welcome and special. The management are very accommodating and genuinely go out of their way to help you. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. The food is excellent with wide choices and impeccably served by the well trained staff who are pleasant and attentive. The dining room is large and we were allocated a private table overlooking the lake, which is just across the road.
This is a great base for touring this beautiful region and the ferry station is just 2 minutes walk away. If you wish to go further afield, the train station is 5 minutes walk away. The bus into Stresa is right outside.
A terrific experience which is all too rare in many “chain style” hotels, this private hotel has lasted so long because they do it right.
On foreshore (Lake frontage rooms (magnificent) are a small extra cost).
Easy walking from the train station.
Although it is next to the coast road, the double glazed windows block out the sound when closed.
Bed and pillow a bit harder than usual.
Hotel has free Wi-Fi in the lobby; you have to ask (or check) hotspot has been turned on, though.
Room and bathroom spacious and clean, but could ‘run out’ of hot water for the shower.
Breakfast was excellent.
Our hosts were friendly, knowledgeable and had good English (and French and German as far as we could tell!)
Baveno is an excellent location for exploring the area, by walking, boat, train, or bus.
A truly welcoming visit with high standards of service. This place was close to all the central baveno facilities: both the boat and train station, food shops and promenade. Rooms were cosy with all facilities provided. The staff were so lovely and even made us a packed lunch for the morning after as we had to leave for the airport in the middle of the night.
Only downside was that Wi fi was only available in the lounge area and a new wifi code had to be asked for each hour. After midnight this was not possible to use as the family who own the hotel went home and returned in the early morning. Cost was approx 80 to 90 euros per night including service and taxes, which i was happy to pay for.
